Day 7, 3/1: overnight, little to no wind tho 12-15kt. was forecast. Wind filled after sunrise for 12 hrs. so we sailed as wind went from SW to S to E. Wind dropped again as it backed to NE. Strategy: motor-sail @1500 rpm due W to WSW w/ a fair current of 3 knots 'til wind returns. 300+ miles to go, but GB calculates we have enough fuel. Some freighter traffic but we're out of shipping lanes. Clouds form in distance but no squalls/showers. Position @ 1955 UTC: 14 deg. 37' N/77 deg. 47' W.
Day 8, 3/2: After sunrise, finally here's the forecast NE wind 10-15kt. Broad-reaching w/ single-reefed & prevented main sail. Wind velocity fluctuates; seas very choppy & rolly on the port beam. Rain showers intermittent & light; little vessel traffic. Position after midnight UTC: 12 deg. 22'N/78 deg. 08' W.
