Bahamas --> Panama, Days 9 &10

Day 9, 3/3: Nice overnight trade-wind sailing, NE winds 12-17. Drop to NNE 10-15 during day then increase to NNE 15-22; then NNE 7-12 late at night. Seas = 4'-6', rolly beam seas. We still have fair current N --> S of 2kt. Aiming for Porvenir on Tues. a.m. 3/4. Position at 2325 UTC: 10 deg. 24'N/78 deg. 33' W.
Day 10, 3/4: Light winds & seas overnight, increase at sunrise to NNE 20-22 kt. NNE swells to 6'. Overcast but no rain/squalls. Anchor at port of entry Porvenir 1405 UTC. 2 hrs.later, up comes a s/v we haven't seen since Mazatlan 2007: Rob & Sue on Joyeux! Rob dinghies us to shore to check in to country while they get travel permit to next port. But it's Day 1of national holiday Carneval, so we both must wait 'til 3/5 to process official paper. We may get to buddy-boat to Portobello & Shelter Bay w/ Joyeux...
